Degass
An event management SaaS for student clubs and societies, taken from concept to launch and sold to its users.
Degass, “to organise” in Breton, is a web app that simplifies running events inside the clubs and societies of higher-education schools.
How it works
Every student gets an account. Some belong to a club as a member, a lead or a president, and Degass uses that hierarchy to assign administrative rights.
Students are registered for an event by the organising club during staffed sessions. That was a deliberate design decision: self-service signup did not match how these events actually fill up.
Features
- Any kind of event, with or without shuttles and with or without pricing
- Registration and payment handling
- Club / lead / member hierarchy with differentiated rights
- Tracking and exports for organisers
What I took from it
I carried the product alone, from idea to customer support: design, development, deployment, then sales to the societies using it. Selling your own software changes how you build it. You stop shipping features nobody asked for fairly quickly.
